Jira Zephyr

Beyond syncing user stories and bugs, TestFlair can export your test cases to Zephyr Scale — the test-management app for Jira — so your test artifacts live alongside the rest of your Jira project.

Beta feature

Zephyr export is a Beta feature and is shown only when you have an active Jira connection. If you don't see the Sync Test Cases option, it isn't enabled for your account — contact your workspace admin or [email protected].

Prerequisites

  1. A connected Jira instance — see Jira Integration for setup.
  2. Zephyr Scale installed on the target Jira project.
  3. Zephyr export enabled for your account (Beta).

Enabling Test-Case Sync

In the Jira connection's Configuration screen you'll find three sync sections — Sync User Stories, Sync Test Cases, and Sync Bugs. When Zephyr is enabled:

  1. Tick Sync Test Cases.
  2. The Jira Issue Type is fixed to Zephyr Scale (read-only) — test cases always export as Zephyr test items, not standard Jira issues.
  3. Choose a Default Priority for exported test cases.
  4. Save the configuration.

Exporting Test Cases

From a project's export flow you can push test cases to Zephyr:

  • Sync All selected project items — exports everything (the summary shows counts of Stories, Test Cases, Test Scripts, and Bugs).
  • Select Specific Items — opens a drawer where you hand-pick the test cases to export.

Each item shows a sync-status badge — Not Synced, Synced, or Modified — so you can tell what still needs to be pushed.

Sync Status

Exported test cases keep a link back to their Zephyr counterpart. Items already exported show a Synced badge; items changed in TestFlair since the last export show Modified and can be re-synced.

Troubleshooting

No "Sync Test Cases" option?

  • Confirm Zephyr export is enabled for your account (Beta).
  • Confirm you have an active Jira connection.

Export fails or items don't appear in Zephyr?

  • Verify Zephyr Scale is installed and active on the mapped Jira project.
  • Check that your Jira account has permission to create Zephyr test items.
