Collaboration

Testing is rarely a solo activity. TestFlair lets your team discuss work in the place it belongs — on the test case, bug, API test or test run itself — rather than in a separate chat where the context is lost.

Comments

Comments are available on four kinds of work item:

ItemWhere to find the comments
Test CaseOpen the test case for editing
BugOpen the bug
API TestOpen the API test for editing
Test RunOpen the run

To leave a comment:

  1. Open the item
  2. Scroll to the Comments section
  3. Type your comment
  4. Click Post

Replies, edits and deletes

  • Reply to a comment to keep a discussion threaded under the point it responds to, instead of scattering it through the feed.
  • Edit your own comment if you need to correct it.
  • Delete your own comment to remove it.

Mentions

Type @ in a comment to mention a teammate. They receive a notification linking straight back to the item — opening it takes them to the exact test case, bug, API test or run being discussed, not to a list they then have to search.

tip

Mention someone rather than describing what you need in general terms. A mention creates a notification; a comment without one relies on the other person happening to look.

You can only mention people who have access to the project. Someone who cannot open the item will not appear in the list.

Notifications

Notifications appear in the platform and cover mentions, invitations and role changes. You can control which categories you receive under Settings → Notifications.

Troubleshooting

I can't find someone to mention

  • They need access to the project. Check the project's members and groups under the project's Settings tab, or see Manage Members.

I can't edit or delete a comment

  • You can only edit and delete your own comments.

My teammate didn't see my comment

  • A plain comment does not notify anyone. Mention them with @ so a notification is created.
